Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer – Design Lead

About the role

HCL is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead design activities for manufacturing processes at its Cork site. The role combines mechanical design, process engineering, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure smooth product transition from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture, refine, and validate design requirements.
• Develop prototypes and proof‑of‑concept implementations to verify design decisions.
• Mentor junior designers, providing training and documentation.
• Work closely with manufacturing, service, and quality assurance teams to support product transition and maintain high‑quality standards.
• Adapt project focus based on changing priorities and ensure effective onsite‑offshore coordination.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in onsite‑offshore coordination.
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both orally and in writing.

Required skills

• Mechanical design using CREO and Windchill PLM.
• Sustenance engineering.
• Manufacturing processes: machining, brazing, welding, sheet‑metal forming.
• Plastic design and manufacturing processes.
• Assembly and part tolerancing, including GD&T.
