Senior Project Manager

About the role

Optum is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high‑priority initiatives that improve healthcare delivery. You will work in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment, combining Agile practices with structured delivery management to ensure programmes move forward efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of initiatives using core project management principles, flow, WIP management and continuous improvement.
• Identify, escalate and resolve impediments affecting team delivery.
• Promote consistent Agile behaviours across teams.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery for assigned initiatives, from intake through execution to release.
• Translate business demand into clear delivery plans, milestones and dependencies.
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions and mitigations throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with business, finance, operations and clinical teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple competing projects.
• Pragmatic project professional who thrives in fast‑paced, matrixed environments.
• Strong stakeholder partnership skills and experience delivering complex, high‑impact initiatives.
