Community Nurse – Stoma, Bladder & Bowel Services (South East Ireland)

About the role

This position supports patients in the South East of Ireland – South Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford and North Cork – by providing specialist stoma, bladder and bowel services in the community. The role combines home visits, community clinics and virtual consultations to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional, ethical care to patients and support their pathway from hospital to home.
• Conduct home visits, community‑based clinics and virtual consultations (telephone/video).
• Plan, manage and organise caseload efficiently, maintaining accurate clinical records.
• Provide education and training to fellow healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with acute and community teams and maintain relationships with regional healthcare providers.
• Undertake service audit and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse with at least 2 years post‑registration experience.
• BSc Nursing degree (or working towards it).
• Full driving licence; company car or car allowance provided.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building abilities.
• Teaching experience and willingness to deliver educational support.

Required skills

• IT proficiency.
• Telehealth consultation skills (telephone and video platforms).
