Senior Software Engineer – Agentic AI

About the role

Mastercard Foundry R&D is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Agentic AI Engineering team. You will work hands‑on to bring generative and agentic AI capabilities into real products, platforms, and developer workflows across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Build software, tooling, and platform capabilities that support Mastercard’s Agentic AI strategy.
• Design and implement AI‑enabled applications, workflows, and developer‑facing features.
• Develop reusable services, patterns, and integrations for AI and agentic systems.
• Evaluate models, frameworks, and tools on quality, cost, latency, reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to product and prototype development from concept through validation.
• Improve developer experience through automation, AI‑assisted workflows, and platform thinking.
• Partner with product, engineering and business stakeholders to turn ideas into working solutions.
• Share learnings, prototypes and best practices across the organization.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building applications or systems using Generative AI, large language models or agentic patterns.
• Strong software engineering background with a focus on scalable, maintainable production systems.
• Ability to evaluate trade‑offs in AI system design, including orchestration, tool‑calling and context management.
• Collaborative mindset and a product‑building orientation.
