About the role
South Coast Logistics, Ireland’s leading hazardous transport and logistics company, is seeking a proactive SHEQ Assistant to support its Health & Safety team. The role offers exposure to a wide range of transport and logistics sectors, including ADR road tankers, container depots, petroleum, waste management, and chemical handling.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and assist in risk assessments.
- Support management in compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
- Maintain performance reports, track CO₂ footprint and PPE usage.
- Assist with accident investigations and emergency response exercises.
- Participate in internal and external audits and report quality or safety risks.
- Coordinate company‑wide Health & Safety committees and deliver training initiatives.
- Perform ad‑hoc duties as required by management.
Required profile
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Health & Safety, or 5+ years relevant experience.
- Familiarity with the Health, Safety & Welfare Act 2005 & 2007 and related regulations.
- Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000) is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
