Software Engineer II (Mid‑Level)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Dublin engineering team. In this role you will help ensure the quality and reliability of web applications and system‑to‑system interfaces that power global payments. You will work closely with developers and product owners to design, build and maintain automated test solutions that deliver secure, high‑performing services to millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Agile teams to validate web applications, APIs and end‑to‑end workflows.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression and performance testing.
• Generate test data, execute test plans and report results to stakeholders.
• Update test documentation and automation suites to reflect new requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, walkthroughs and quality metric collection.
• Identify, log and track defects, working with developers to resolve issues.
• Conduct peak, endurance, stress and capacity testing as needed.
• Suggest and implement process improvements for testing efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for software quality.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
