Software Engineer – Machine Controls & Connectivity

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to drive the development, enhancement and optimisation of next‑generation machine control platforms. The role blends PLC development, HMI design, motion control and industrial connectivity while acting as a technical bridge between global engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise PLC software using CODESYS or similar platforms.
• Enhance machine control architecture, motion control systems and servo‑drive integration.
• Design and improve HMI and application software with C# and related technologies.
• Support version control, release management and change‑control processes.
• Translate customer and market requirements into scalable control‑system solutions.
• Collaborate with global R&D teams on new features, software improvements and issue resolution.
• Assist with commissioning, machine integration and advanced technical troubleshooting.
• Develop machine connectivity solutions, including MES integration, APIs and industrial communication protocols.
• Ensure compliance with machine safety standards, CE requirements and risk‑assessment processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Experience in industrial automation, machine controls or special‑purpose machinery.
• Strong PLC programming background, ideally with CODESYS.
• Experience with servo systems, motion control and industrial communications.
• C# development experience, particularly for HMI or industrial applications.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management, version control and structured development practices.
• Knowledge of machine safety concepts and relevant industrial standards.
