Software Engineer – System Software

About the role

Join NetApp’s Research and Development team as a Software Engineer focused on system software. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of new features for NetApp’s flagship storage operating system while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain new features for the storage OS, handling engineering escalations.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle: definition, design, coding, debugging, testing, and early customer support.
• Collaborate with QA, System Test Engineering, and other engineering teams to understand use cases and deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in system software development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Passion for quality and sound software engineering practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Unix/Linux system programming experience.
• Understanding of operating system internals.
• Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and multithreaded programming.
