About the role
An exciting, clinically‑focused position is available within the pharmacy team at Raigmore Hospital. The role offers a rotational programme across a wide range of specialties, allowing the pharmacist to develop broad clinical expertise while supporting patient care in medical, oncology, surgical and women & children services.
Key responsibilities
- Rotate through gastroenterology, respiratory, general surgery, acute medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, oncology, haematology, critical care, paediatrics, neonates, renal and elderly care.
- Support lead pharmacists in additional areas such as rheumatology, neurology, dermatology, antimicrobials, maternity, diabetes/endocrinology and high‑dependency units.
- Assist in the training and development of pharmacy students, trainee and junior pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians.
- Participate in education and training of the wider multidisciplinary team, including medical and nursing staff.
- Engage in quality‑improvement projects, audits and governance groups such as sub‑committees of the Area Drug and Therapeutics Committee.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacist with a Masters degree in Pharmacy.
- Relevant post‑registration experience.
- Post‑graduate qualifications (e.g., Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy, Independent Prescribing) are desirable and will be supported.
- Strong communication, self‑motivation and teamwork skills.
