About the role

The Inpatient Ward at our Sports Surgery Clinic is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to deliver high‑quality pre‑operative and post‑operative care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in pre‑operative and post‑operative areas.
• Coordinate staffing levels with nursing colleagues to maintain adequate cover.
• Maintain patient records accurately and ensure confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in accreditation activities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to the clinic’s patient identification and safety policies at all times.
• Monitor and audit nursing standards, updating procedures as needed.

Required profile

• Registered nurse qualified to practice under An Bord Altranais.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centred care and professional ethics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
