Supply Chain Director – Pharma

About the role

The Supply Chain Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for global supply chain activities across international pharmaceutical markets. This senior position ensures reliable, compliant, and cost‑effective product supply while aligning internal operations with external partner capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead international supply chain planning and execution to guarantee product availability, service performance, and cost optimisation.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support commercial objectives and growth plans.
• Translate market dynamics, lead times, tender cycles and demand variability into actionable supply and inventory strategies.
• Define and manage inventory policies, including safety stock, cycle stock and obsolescence mitigation.
• Drive forecast accuracy improvements through structured planning, root‑cause analysis and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Partner with distributors, suppliers, contract manufacturers and commercial teams to align execution with business expectations.
• Ensure compliant international distribution, customs, serialization, cold‑chain management and local packaging requirements.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks related to capacity, logistics, geopolitical factors, regulatory requirements and product quality.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, optimise inventory and lower total delivered cost.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Proven experience managing international or multi‑region supply chain operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead S&OP/IBP processes.
• Experience in regulated environments such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical devices.
