Technical Designer – Remote (Ireland)

About the role

Join a fully remote game development team where technical creativity and problem‑solving drive exceptional gameplay experiences. As a Technical Designer you will bridge creative and technical teams, building frameworks, tools, and workflows that enable developers to deliver innovative game systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define technical approaches for gameplay concepts.
• Design, implement, and maintain technical frameworks, workflows, and production pipelines.
• Provide guidance, tools, documentation, and best practices as a technical resource.
• Develop deep knowledge of the game engine and development tools to support advanced gameplay.
• Promote strong system architecture principles, including optimization, scalability, and content reuse.
• Advocate for technical design practices and improve communication between creative and technical departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Technical Designer or similar role in game development.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to analyse complex technical and creative challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and thrive in a remote environment.
• Collaboration skills across multiple disciplines and constructive feedback delivery.

Required skills

• Technical scripting (visual and text‑based) expertise.
• Knowledge of C++ programming (plus).
• Optimization techniques for performance and scalability.
• Understanding of network replication and multiplayer considerations.
• Proficiency with game engine and development tools.
