Temporary Consultant Plastics, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon

About the role

This temporary consultant position offers a senior‑level opportunity to lead plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgical services within a major university teaching hospital. Working 37 hours per week, the role supports high‑quality patient care and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Perform elective and emergency plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures.
• Provide specialist clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Supervise junior doctors, trainees and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audit activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with hospital governance standards.

Required profile

• Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
• Specialty qualification in Plastics, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Ireland.
• Demonstrated experience in a consultant‑level surgical role.
