Transport Major Projects Manager – Cork

About the role

The Transport Major Projects Manager will lead the planning, design and delivery of large‑scale transport schemes across Ireland, including road, rail, public transport, active travel and public realm projects. Based in our Cork office, the role offers hybrid working and involves both technical project leadership and business development.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff.
• Manage the full lifecycle of transport projects – from feasibility studies to detailed design, statutory approvals (EIAR, CPO) and construction supervision.
• Prepare and administer construction contracts, ensuring value‑for‑money delivery.
• Lead business development activities, maintain client relationships, gather market intelligence and drive bid proposals for major projects.

Required profile

• Extensive consultancy experience in transport planning and design.
• Degree level (Level 8/9) and Chartered Engineer status.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to work efficiently with digital tools.
• Strong knowledge of Irish design standards, NEC and Irish Public Works Contracts.
• Full Irish/EU driving licence.
• Excellent communication, high personal integrity and a proactive, flexible attitude.
