Transport Planner

About the role

The Transport Planner will join CMA CGM’s Transport Department to optimise inland container movements across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Working within the planning team, you will ensure road partners are used efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Dispatch all road transport for Ireland and ensure maximum efficiency.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal departments, vendors and hauliers.
• Allocate vehicles, capture additional costs and report them to relevant teams.
• Act as the focal point for internal updates and provide cover during colleague absences.
• Manage key transport accounts and coordinate with import/export customer service groups.
• Resolve service issues with corrective actions and provide performance feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the transport industry.
• Ability to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and calm demeanor in stressful situations.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Destin8 and CNS port community systems (preferable).
• Good geographical and spatial awareness of Ireland for route planning.
