Urgent Care Physician – Carrickmines Clinic

About the role

Vhi Health & Wellbeing DAC is seeking an Urgent Care Physician to join its Carrickmines Clinic in Dublin. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred urgent care in a fast‑paced, commercially driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients presenting with urgent care needs, including minor injuries such as sprains, fractures and wounds.
• Facilitate referrals to specialist services when required.
• Perform initial interpretation of x‑rays and ECGs.
• Determine and carry out any necessary procedures.
• Provide consultations for walk‑in patients and ensure appropriate follow‑up.

Required profile

• Registered with the Irish Medical Council.
• Minimum 5 years post‑graduate clinical experience, including significant GP/community practice.
• At least 2 years recent experience in urgent care, minor trauma or A&E settings.
• Post‑graduate qualification or training in Emergency Medicine or General Practice is highly beneficial.
• Experience with paediatric patients (minimum 6 months) is desirable.
• Flexibility to work a 7‑day roster and hold a valid BLS certification.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certified.
• Proficiency in x‑ray interpretation.
• Proficiency in ECG interpretation.
• Competence in managing minor injuries and trauma.
