About the role
This 8‑month internship in the Utilities department of Eli Lilly's new biotech manufacturing facility in Limerick offers hands‑on experience with clean utilities, regulatory requirements, and process control in a fast‑moving start‑up environment.
Key responsibilities
- Gain experience with clean utilities systems in a next‑generation biotech facility.
- Understand and apply regulatory requirements within the engineering department.
- Analyze process trends and translate data into actionable information.
- Support validation activities during facility start‑up.
- Assist with process control improvements and departmental optimisation projects.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a BEng Mechanical Engineering program (UL eligibility).
- Motivated to work on‑site 4‑5 days a week for the duration of the placement.
- Strong analytical mindset and interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Required skills
- Understanding of clean utilities and process control concepts.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in an engineering context.
- Ability to analyse process data and identify trends.
- Basic knowledge of validation procedures in a manufacturing environment.
