Water Supply & Infrastructure Engineer (Consultant)

About the role

Our client is looking for an individual consultant to assess and address water supply infrastructure gaps in Namatanai District, New Ireland Province, PNG. The engagement will involve on‑site assessments, reporting and collaboration with local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing water supply infrastructure, documenting current conditions and pinpointing specific gaps.
• Formulate recommendations for suitable water supply solutions—including boreholes, reticulation networks, storage facilities, and treatment options—tailored to the local site conditions.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and implementation plans that take into account the logistical challenges of working in a remote New Ireland Province setting.
• Work closely with the on‑ground multi‑disciplinary technical team to ensure alignment and effective coordination throughout the project.

Required profile

• Professional engineer or technical specialist with proven experience in water supply and infrastructure projects, ideally within PNG or similar Pacific/remote environments.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently on‑site, delivering periodic progress reports and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
• Readiness to commit to a defined engagement period, with the scope to be refined based on the findings of the initial assessment.
