Academic Support Manager

About the role

Kaplan International Languages is seeking an Academic Support Manager to work closely with the Director of Studies in Dublin. The role combines classroom teaching with the day‑to‑day management of the academic department, ensuring high‑quality English language instruction and a smooth student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Studies in overseeing the teaching team and overall school operations.
• Deliver up to 6 hours per week of engaging lessons aligned with Kaplan’s Global Curriculum and teaching standards.
• Handle academic administration including attendance tracking, testing, progress reports and record‑keeping.
• Develop and adapt teaching materials as needed.
• Lead and participate in the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
• Take charge of the academic department during the Director’s absence.

Required profile

• Proven ability to teach creatively across all levels, including exam preparation and business English.
• Strong rapport‑building skills with international students and colleagues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Effective independent work habits.
• Solid IT competence and experience using Interactive Whiteboards in the classroom.
• Prior experience in academic administration, preferably within an ELT environment.
