Account Executive – SMB (UK & Ireland)

About the role

Join Shopify’s SMB Acquisition team as an Account Executive and drive new business opportunities across the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will work directly with notable brands and entrepreneurs, helping them shape their commerce strategies and grow their businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Engage prospects to understand their goals and propose tailored Shopify solutions.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to target SMB customers.
• Lead high‑volume outreach via calls, email and social media to qualify leads.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signature.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance client outcomes.
• Stay up‑to‑date on product features, industry trends and market dynamics.
• Proactively build and forecast a robust sales pipeline.

Required profile

• Fluency in French and proficiency in English.
• Proven experience in a closing sales or Sales Development role with a track record of exceeding SMB targets.
• Strong hunting mindset and consultative selling approach.
• Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and engage C‑level stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated, results‑driven and comfortable with outbound prospecting.

Required skills

• French language proficiency.
• English language proficiency.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
• Familiarity with sales engagement platforms.
• Knowledge of MEDDICC, BANT or Challenger sales methodologies (advantageous).
