Accountant – Tax Compliance Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with strong tax compliance expertise to join Xenon Arc. The role involves managing month‑end close activities, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate tax filings across multiple European jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and re‑classifications.
• Prepare and reconcile key balance‑sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to queries and following up on findings.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and submit VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax and other tax reports for several European countries.
• Manage tax audits and inquiries, liaising with external tax advisors and legal counsel.
• Stay up‑to‑date with European tax regulations and their reporting implications.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on market launches, ERP set‑up, price‑list updates and e‑invoicing transitions.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and handling multiple tax filings.
• Familiarity with European tax regulations (e.g., Eco Tax, Sigaus, MOT, Excise Duty) is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Avalara is advantageous.
