Accounting Specialist – Global AP & Process Improvement

About the role

You will join a century‑old multinational manufacturing leader, supporting the aerospace, defence and industrial markets. This newly created global position focuses on Accounts Payable and offers the chance to shape accounting processes across multiple regions and currencies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage electronic invoice workflows, data entry, GL allocation and payment preparation.
• Oversee vendor management, maintain accurate records and respond to vendor queries.
• Drive timely GRN and invoice capture to ensure prompt vendor payments.
• Review invoices for correct tax treatment.
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolve issues and handle escalations.
• Administer company PCard transactions, including reconciliation and approvals.
• Support month‑end close and audit processes, including journal entries.
• Capture bank statement entries accurately into the ledger.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Act as the compliance champion for Accounts Payable and train non‑Finance users.
• Contribute to global monthly cash planning and trend analysis.
• Regularly reconcile key balance‑sheet accounts and analyse costs versus plan.
• Provide leave cover for Accounts Receivable when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance environment.
• Strong understanding of financial entries, statements and management accounts.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP systems; experience with Ariba is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational ability and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on accuracy.
