Assistant Buyer – Plant & Outdoor Range

About the role

As an Assistant Buyer you will support Woodie's buying team in selecting, sourcing and purchasing plant and outdoor product ranges. You will help ensure the assortment meets customer needs and business targets, with a strong focus on gardening and horticulture trends.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in product selection, range expansion and monitoring market trends.
• Support supplier negotiations, maintain relationships and ensure timely deliveries.
• Help manage stock levels, product launches and maintain accurate purchase records.
• Monitor sales and inventory, prepare reports and recommend actions for under‑performing items.
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide administrative support to the buying team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise buying processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.

Required profile

• Interest or background in gardening, horticulture and seasonal product demands.
• Analytical, organised and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
