Assistant Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at Ocuco’s Dublin headquarters. The role provides hands‑on experience across financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial control for our UK entities, and involves contributing to month‑end close and reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly revenue recognition, prepayment and accrual journals.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and balance‑sheet reconciliations, including supporting schedules.
• Assist the Finance Manager with monthly and quarterly reporting packs and adhere to the Group month‑end timetable.
• Own the accounts payable ledger, reconcile supplier statements, process invoices, run supplier payments and manage employee expense processing.
• Handle accounts receivable queries, conduct credit control activities, perform aged debt analysis and support cash‑flow reporting.
• Prepare VAT & VIES returns for relevant Group entities and support process‑improvement and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• ATI qualification, relevant degree, or part‑qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
• Practical experience supporting month‑end close activities, including journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles such as revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments and intercompany accounting.
