Backend Developer – Node.js, Java, AWS

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Developer to join a fast‑growing eCommerce organisation that is expanding across Ireland, the UK and the US. The role is hybrid (three days onsite) and offers the chance to own critical systems while influencing technical strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Take hands‑on ownership of multiple backend services, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
• Shape the technical roadmap and contribute to long‑term platform decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality features in a rapid development environment.
• Act as a proactive, solution‑oriented engineer solving complex challenges.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience building backend applications.
• Strong cloud engineering background with AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience working in AI‑first or AI‑assisted development workflows.
• Solid production experience with Java and the Spring Framework.
