Backend Engineer – Extensions

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer – Extensions to design and scale backend services that enable advanced AI‑driven capabilities for enterprise applications. You will work at the intersection of engineering and data science, turning innovative ideas into reliable, high‑performance workflows used by large organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the reliability, scalability and performance of extension‑related backend systems.
• Design, develop and maintain distributed workflows that are observable, reproducible and resilient in production.
• Collaborate with data scientists and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Monitor system bottlenecks and continuously improve latency, throughput and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the evolution of backend infrastructure.
• Write clean, maintainable and well‑tested Python code following high engineering standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation to support knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mentality and ability to drive projects from concept to deployment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on software quality, performance and maintainability.
• Proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Design and implementation of distributed systems.
• Understanding of concurrency models and task execution frameworks.
• Experience with workflow orchestration patterns and tools.
• Knowledge of observability, reproducibility and reliability best practices.
