Business Development Specialist – Galway & West Ireland

About the role

Wines Direct is seeking a Business Development Specialist to grow its presence across Galway and the West of Ireland. You will join an experienced sales team, reporting to the Sales Manager, and will be responsible for generating new business and nurturing existing client relationships in the wine and hospitality sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Manage commercial performance and achieve monthly sales targets.
• Visit customers according to a call plan while remaining flexible to their needs.
• Generate leads through networking, social media, referrals, and cold calling.
• Maintain post‑sale relationships to ensure satisfaction and secure referrals.
• Attend ongoing product and sales training.

Required profile

• Proven sales or business development experience in the on‑trade (restaurants, hotels, bars) environment.
• Strong interest and knowledge of wine and the food‑and‑wine industry.
• Target‑driven, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Excellent negotiation and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for business purposes.
