Buyer – Electrical Lighting Procurement

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to manage our electrical lighting supplier portfolio. The role will be part of a four‑person Purchasing team and will own forecasting, ordering and supplier coordination to ensure stock availability while protecting working capital.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast demand and place purchase orders to meet agreed service levels and control stock investment.
• Manage open purchase orders and supplier schedules to guarantee timely delivery.
• Monitor and reduce excess, slow‑moving and obsolete inventory.
• Track supplier performance – lead times, delivery reliability and responsiveness – and take corrective action.
• Optimise inventory levels across Dublin and UK hub warehouses.
• Collaborate with Sales on large project orders, providing accurate availability dates.
• Work daily with the Purchasing team in China to align ordering plans and resolve supply issues.
• Implement daily stock‑control measures to avoid out‑of‑stock situations.
• Prepare reports and analysis to support the Purchasing Manager in decision‑making.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in buying, stock‑holding or inventory management.
• Strong analytical and numeracy abilities with commercial awareness of stock‑related financial impact.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Proactive, solution‑driven attitude and confident communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
