About the role
Reporting to the Central MRO Support Team Leader, the Buyer will support the Central MRO Support function within the Purchasing team. The role focuses on controlling branch inventories, sourcing MRO spare parts, and ensuring customers receive the right items at the best price.
Key responsibilities
- Support the customer site network with MRO spare parts requests.
- Handle ad‑hoc queries from Sales and Business Development teams, sourcing correct items at optimal prices.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with branch colleagues and central staff.
- Process new business tenders and use internal tools to uphold best purchasing practices.
- Maintain supplier relationships to achieve commercial objectives.
- Ensure orders are delivered according to customer requirements and keep ERP data up to date.
- Project‑manage site projects related to new spare parts and critical spares lists.
Required profile
- A third‑level qualification in a purchasing‑related field or equivalent experience.
- Several years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably within an MRO spares environment.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, numeracy and attention to detail.
- Understanding of health and safety issues.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
