Buyer / Sourcing Specialist – Galway

About the role

This hands‑on Buyer / Sourcing Specialist position sits at the heart of product sourcing for high‑tech manufacturing environments, including pharma, medtech, semiconductor and life‑science sectors. You will own sourcing requests, negotiate with suppliers and directly influence cost, quality and delivery performance.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of sourcing requests from internal sales and customers.
• Identify and qualify the right suppliers quickly, beyond the standard supplier list.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms that drive measurable savings.
• Resolve technical sourcing challenges where speed and accuracy are critical.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships that improve service and cost.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and turn them into concrete results.
• Manage tenders and support supplier selection decisions.
• Collaborate closely with sales, operations and technical teams to keep projects moving.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain or buying.
• Comfortable working with technical or industrial products such as MRO, electrical components or spares.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to make autonomous decisions.
• Fast thinker who can work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Organised, proactive and able to influence supplier performance.

Required skills

• SAP (experience advantageous).
• Microsoft Office suite.
