Category Marketing Officer

About the role

As part of Primark's dynamic Marketing team, the Category Marketing Officer supports the accurate and timely delivery of category campaigns, product launches, seasonal moments and key trading initiatives. The role works closely with buying, trade planning and operations to ensure seamless execution from briefing to activation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of allocated category campaigns, launches and seasonal activity with buying stakeholders.
• Maintain campaign timelines, performance trackers, schedules and milestone updates.
• Track progress and provide visibility of status, actions and deadlines to buying stakeholders.
• Work with trade planning and operations to support campaign workflows from briefing through activation and close‑out.
• Escalate product delays, risks or missing information promptly.
• Manage flow of creative, copy, product information and campaign assets, maintaining version control.
• Keep organized records of briefs, assets, decisions and supporting documents.
• Schedule meetings, campaign check‑ins, reviews and planning sessions.
• Communicate campaign status and changes clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Support Marketing Managers with status updates, presentations and day‑to‑day administration.
• Gather campaign delivery and performance information and prepare weekly status reports and post‑campaign summaries.
• Conduct basic customer, competitor and market research and highlight gaps or emerging issues.
• Maintain strong organisation across files, tools, systems and shared workspaces and identify simple workflow improvements.

• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Attention to detail, discretion and accuracy in handling campaign information.
• Proactive communication style to keep stakeholders informed.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.
