Head of Category Marketing – Dublin

About the role

The Head of Category Marketing will lead the strategy and execution for one of the retailer’s most important product categories. Working closely with senior commercial leaders, you will shape growth, respond to evolving customer behaviour and translate marketing plans into measurable commercial results. The role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model (three days in the office).

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the long‑term growth strategy for a major category.
• Partner with senior commercial leaders to uncover opportunities for market‑share expansion.
• Convert customer insights and market trends into commercially effective marketing plans.
• Lead integrated campaigns that support seasonal trading, product launches and key commercial moments.
• Make data‑driven investment decisions to maximise marketing effectiveness and ROI.
• Monitor category performance and adapt plans based on customer behaviour and trading results.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver cohesive, commercially focused marketing activity.
• Build and develop a high‑performing team capable of best‑in‑class category marketing.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading category, commercial or consumer marketing in a large organisation.
• Track record of developing growth strategies that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
• Experience managing significant marketing investment and campaign budgets.
• Ability to work closely with buying, product and commercial teams.
• Strong use of customer insight, market data and performance metrics to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership through pace, complexity and continual change.
