Chief Operating Officer

About the role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will act as the CEO’s primary execution partner, overseeing the full spectrum of business performance for a national contract cleaning and facilities services organisation. Based in Dublin, the COO will lead all heads of department and senior operational leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Drive business and financial performance, ensuring P&L targets are met.
• Oversee operational delivery across healthcare and non‑healthcare portfolios.
• Lead commercial outcomes, including pipeline discipline, bid quality, pricing strategy and margin protection.
• Manage mobilisation of new contracts and major change initiatives.
• Integrate cross‑functional teams (Operations, Commercial, Corporate Services, HSQE) to deliver a unified operating model.
• Establish robust governance, particularly within regulated healthcare environments.
• Foster a disciplined performance cadence and continuous improvement culture.

Required profile

• Senior executive leadership experience (COO, CBO, Operations Director, Managing Director or equivalent).
• Proven track record in multi‑site, labour‑intensive services such as facilities management, contract cleaning or outsourced healthcare services.
• Demonstrated ownership of both operational delivery and commercial results.
• Material P&L responsibility and experience leading organisations of 1,000+ employees.
• Background in regulated, compliance‑heavy environments, preferably healthcare.
