Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Global Payments is looking for a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join its Technology Operations team in Dublin. This hands‑on role combines engineering, operational engagement and technical ownership across our Google Cloud Platform environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate GCP infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Own configuration management for VMs and clusters with Ansible or equivalent tools.
• Ensure security, scalability and high availability of all infrastructure platforms.
• Support cloud cost optimisation, capacity planning and on‑call tier‑3/4 support.
• Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Automate monitoring, alerting and remediation workflows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Kanban for BAU and Agile for projects, and manage Jira governance for infrastructure work.
• Deploy, configure and maintain Kubernetes clusters, namespaces, RBAC, ingress controllers and service mesh.
• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks for VM and cluster configuration, including patching and security hardening.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, SRE or Cloud Engineer in an enterprise setting.
• Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform.
