Commercial Account Executive - Longford

About the role

Howden Ireland, based in its Longford office, is hiring a Commercial Account Executive for its Commercial book of business, which sits within the wider Commercial team. Reporting to the Team Leader and Head of Existing Business, the role focuses on managing policy renewals, retaining and satisfying clients through tailored insurance solutions, and securing new business when opportunities arise.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients and foster long-term loyalty.
• Oversee renewals of commercial insurance policies, including reviewing terms, negotiating renewals and ensuring timely completion.
• Evaluate clients' risk profiles and advise on suitable insurance products and coverage.
• Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high client satisfaction.
• Achieve New Business and Renewal targets.
• Follow compliance and office procedures, including the New Business Development and Renewal Procedures document, and give feedback to management on market issues such as pricing, service levels and product development.
• Work with other groups where needed to support training, product development and efficiency, attend client visits with management, and follow the Compliance Handbook and Procedures Manual.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a commercial insurance role.
• Minimum APA Commercial or Grandfathered Commercial with proof of up-to-date CPD.
• Proven track record managing a client portfolio, especially renewals and client inquiries.
• Full clean driving licence.

Required skills

• Excellent technical product knowledge of commercial insurance and the commercial insurance market.
• Proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions.
• Strong relationship management, negotiation and sales skills.
