Commissioning Manager

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will be the single point of contact for all commissioning activities on mission‑critical data centre projects. Reporting to the Director of Projects, you will lead the commissioning function, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance throughout delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the commissioning authority and primary contact for data centre projects.
• Develop and implement a commissioning strategy based on CIBSE Code M standards.
• Lead on‑site commissioning teams, ensuring consistent execution of processes.
• Manage commissioning schedules, documentation and reporting to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors to achieve project milestones.
• Train, mentor and develop internal commissioning staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency, reliability and sustainability.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of proven commissioning management experience in mission‑critical data centres.
• Formal training in CIBSE Code M Commissioning Management or equivalent.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi‑stakeholder projects.
• Strong leadership, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Excellent communication with the ability to present technical information clearly.
