Communications Programme Manager – Global

About the role

As the Communications Programme Manager at FSC, you will steer the global communications strategy that promotes responsible forest management. You will own the full communications lifecycle, ensuring the organisation’s voice is coherent, compelling and impactful across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a thought‑leadership strategy positioning FSC as a trusted authority on biodiversity, climate solutions and sustainable forestry.
• Amplify FSC’s presence at major industry events through storytelling and thought‑leadership content.
• Lead end‑to‑end communications projects, managing timelines, quality and stakeholder alignment.
• Develop and maintain strategic narratives across digital platforms, the annual report, newsletters and other key channels.
• Apply analytics and monitoring‑and‑evaluation methodologies to measure campaign performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage and develop the communications team, overseeing workloads, budgets and compliance with FSC policies and health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience creating and executing communications strategies.
• 5+ years of experience leading communications teams.
• 5+ years of experience in content messaging, positioning and editorial delivery.
• Proven track record using M&E methods to improve communications outcomes.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); additional Spanish or French is a plus.
