Community Access Facilitator

About the role

The Community Access Facilitator supports adults with intellectual disabilities to engage with community‑based services, develop life‑skills and pursue personal goals. Working across Cork City, its suburbs and West Cork, you will help individuals achieve independence, social inclusion and a sense of belonging.

Key responsibilities

• Assist participants in accessing a wide range of community services, educational activities, and employment or volunteer opportunities.
• Plan and deliver person‑centred day‑service programmes that include social, recreational, rehabilitative and health‑monitoring activities.
• Promote advocacy, communication skills and community participation in line with a Human Rights‑Based Approach.
• Maintain accurate records and report on rights‑outcome indicators as required by the New Directions policy.
• Work autonomously while collaborating with managers, families, carers and local organisations.

Required profile

• Motivated and compassionate individual with a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions within a supervisory framework.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with participants, families and community partners.
• Flexibility to work full‑time, part‑time or evenings as required.
