Community Inclusion Manager

About the role

The Community Inclusion Manager will lead the operational delivery of a new community‑based service for adults with intellectual disabilities in Wicklow. Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, the role ensures that supports are safe, rights‑based and person‑centred, enabling individuals to participate fully in their communities according to their preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for community inclusion and day‑service pathways, aligning with organisational priorities and service plans.
• Implement New Directions and other national standards to promote choice, autonomy and meaningful participation.
• Manage admissions, referrals, transitions and discharges, ensuring safe and coordinated pathways.
• Collaborate with individuals, families, guardians and decision‑supporters to develop personalised goals and community inclusion plans.
• Represent the service on local operational forums and build constructive relationships with key stakeholders, including the HSE.
• Oversee service capacity, communicate constraints and support staff development through induction and ongoing training.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading community inclusion services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Strong understanding of rights‑based, person‑centred approaches and the New Directions framework.
• Ability to work collaboratively with families, guardians, decision‑supporters and external agencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
