Community Support Instructor / Supervisor

About the role

Sunbeam House Services is seeking a dedicated Instructor / Supervisor to join its progressive, community‑based service in Bray. You will work with adults aged 22‑40 who have mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, helping them develop everyday life skills, access education or employment, and live more independently.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate and implement a person‑centred approach that aligns with each client’s wishes and goals.
• Promote and protect the rights, dignity, choice and privacy of service users.
• Identify and create new interests and community opportunities that foster meaningful roles.
• Support overall wellbeing, including health, personal care and confidence building.
• Assist in teaching practical life skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning and confidence development.

Required profile

• QQI Level 7 in Social Care (or foreign equivalent validated by QQI).
• Registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board (CORU) or eligibility for registration.
• Passion for empowering people with intellectual disabilities.
• Team player able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of New Directions regulations, standards and relevant legislation.
• Full driving licence with access to a car.
• Desirable: minimum one year post‑qualification experience with adults with intellectual disability.
• Experience handling complex needs and responsive behaviour.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
