Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

About the role

This senior position is based in Cork and provides specialist psychiatric care for children and adolescents within a leading HSE CAMHS service. The role combines clinical excellence with service leadership and offers a lifestyle‑focused relocation to a coastal Irish city.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary CAMHS teams across the Cork region.
• Deliver high‑quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment to children and adolescents.
• Support early‑intervention and community mental‑health pathways.
• Contribute to clinical governance, service development and strategic planning.
• Participate in teaching, training and mentorship of junior staff.

Required profile

• Current registration and practice as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Ireland.
• Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Proven experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
• Eligibility to work as a Consultant under the HSE contract.
• Strong multidisciplinary team and leadership experience.

What we offer

• Salary range €238,221 – €286,151 per annum (2026 HSE scale).
• On‑call allowance of €11,250+ per year.
• Annual CME funding of €12,000 and research grant of €8,000.
