About the role
The Department of Clinical Oncology in Inverness is seeking a Consultant Clinical Scientist to lead the Equipment and Dosimetry section. You will manage a small team of scientists and technologists, supporting specialist cancer services across the Highlands & Islands.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Equipment and Dosimetry service, ensuring safe and accurate operation of radiotherapy equipment.
- Provide cover for the wider physics team as required in a small department.
- Undertake project work and develop specialised areas of interest.
- Maintain and optimise equipment such as Varian Truebeam linear accelerators and Siemens Somatom Confidence RT Pro CT scanner.
Required profile
- Qualified Clinical Scientist (Band 8B) with experience in radiotherapy physics.
- Ability to lead a team and manage service delivery.
- Willingness to work across the department and support multidisciplinary projects.
Required skills
- Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerator operation
- Siemens Somatom Confidence RT Pro CT scanner
- RayStation Treatment Planning system
- RayCare Oncology Management System
- AlignRT surface guided radiotherapy
- Radcalc EPID transit dosimetry
- MRI and PET‑CT familiarity
