Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Finance Role

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Cost Accountant to join a fast‑paced food manufacturing business in Kildare. You will partner with Operations, Procurement, NPD and Commercial teams to deliver accurate product costing, financial insight and support a major systems implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end product costing for new product development, recipe and packaging changes, and post‑launch reviews.
• Maintain accurate product, BOM and routing costings and support pricing, tenders and commercial proposals through scenario modelling.
• Lead the annual Costs of Production (COPs) budget process and enhance the costing framework for margin optimisation.
• Provide finance business partnering to Operations and NPD, delivering timely cost insight and supporting procurement cost validation.
• Analyse weekly material, labour and purchase price variances, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Support testing, data validation and go‑live activities for a new NPD/Recipe system.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in standard costing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical ability and confidence communicating across finance, operations and commercial functions.
• Proactive, organised and solutions‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• IFS ERP system (product costing, BOMs, inventory and reporting).
• Advanced Excel (complex formulas, data analysis and reconciliation).
