Data Centre Security Officer

About the role

The Data Centre Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at a data centre site 24/7. You will patrol the premises, monitor surveillance systems, control access, and respond to incidents to protect personnel, equipment and client property.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and non‑routine security duties, including access control, CCTV monitoring, door alarm response and event handling.
• Patrol the site, inspect buildings, equipment and access points, and report any security or health‑and‑safety threats immediately.
• Maintain order during emergency conditions and provide civil order on the premises.
• Write detailed reports, manage lost‑and‑found items and perform receptionist duties as required.
• Issue and control security keys, manage badge access and ensure compliance with visitor, employee, contractor and vendor access policies.
• Support daily Method of Procedure (MOP) activities and coordinate supervised escorts.

Required profile

• Relevant security background with appropriate licensing and certificates as required by local legislation.
• Excellent communication skills and a courteous, professional demeanor.
• Strong customer service and reception abilities.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
