Data Scientist I

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a junior Data Scientist to join the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) platform team. The role involves developing machine learning models and business intelligence projects to support SMEs globally.

Key responsibilities

• Aggregate and collate client data sets and conduct data manipulation and technical analysis to identify trends and draw insights.
• Clean and structure data sets for downstream analytics.
• Assist with the development and validation of dashboards and reports for client and stakeholder projects.
• Escalate technical errors or bugs detected in project work.
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks as delegated by senior colleagues.

Required profile

• Highly motivated and detail‑oriented individual with a passion for data analysis and problem‑solving.
• Skilled in aggregating and collating client data sets, conducting thorough data manipulation and technical analysis using industry‑standard techniques.
• Experienced in assisting with the development and validation of dashboards and reports for client and stakeholder projects.
• Proactive attitude with a willingness to assist with ad‑hoc tasks as delegated by senior colleagues.
