Datacenter Technician

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Datacenter Technician to keep a large‑scale data centre running smoothly. The role involves maintaining server hardware, performing break‑fix tasks, deploying new equipment and providing basic network support in a secure, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform server and hardware break‑fix activities across production environments.
• Replace and troubleshoot components such as hard drives, memory modules, power supplies, motherboards and chassis.
• Carry out server hardware upgrades and equipment replacements.
• Install, remove and maintain rack‑mounted infrastructure, including structured cabling and cable management.
• Support basic Layer 1 and Layer 2 network troubleshooting and validate connectivity.
• Follow operational, security and change‑management procedures and accurately document all work.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations, Engineering and vendor teams while maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organization and safety.

Required profile

• Experience supporting physical server infrastructure in a data centre, enterprise IT or technical operations environment.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware components and replacement procedures.
• Familiarity with rack‑and‑stack activities, cable management best practices and basic networking concepts.
• Ability to work safely at height using ladders, MEWPs or scissor lifts.
• Excellent attention to detail, health‑and‑safety awareness and adherence to operational processes.
