Deputy Regional Manager – Children’s Residential Services (Midwest)

About the role

The Deputy Regional Manager will support the delivery of Children’s Residential Services across the Midwest region, ensuring alignment with national policy and standards. This senior position reports to the Regional Manager and Service Director and plays a key part in governance, risk oversight, and service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support to the management of all residential services within the region.
• Governance of identified risks and escalation processes.
• Lead and manage regional teams to deliver services in line with national standards.
• Manage nationally‑assigned services or projects as directed.
• Exercise delegated authority and drive change processes to align service delivery with policy direction.
• Contribute to regional and national working groups, policy implementation and project groups.
• Collaborate with regional leads and national service leads (EWS, DSGBV, Commissioning) to ensure comprehensive service access.
• Support a continuum of care for young people, including interventions and after‑care planning.
• Participate in an on‑call rota, providing weekend and evening coverage as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing children’s residential or alternative care services.
• Strong understanding of national child protection policies and service standards.
• Ability to oversee risk management and governance frameworks.
• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and driving service improvement.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including on‑call duties.
