Desktop Support Specialist – IT Support Engineer (SCCM/Intune)

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team in Dublin. You will be the first point of contact for users, handling queries via phone, email and our service desk platform, and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to user queries raised through a national telephone number, email and Service Manager.
• Take ownership of incidents, troubleshoot, and resolve them to completion.
• Liaise with national IT teams and regional managers for escalations.
• Manage IT fixed assets and software installations using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and local methods on Windows 10 Enterprise.
• Support network printing, multi‑function devices and AV‑enabled meeting rooms.
• Assist the National Technology team with software deployments, LAN/WAN issues, patching and security updates.
• Apply the Starters/Leavers process in partnership with the People Team.
• Provide user training, create Knowledge Base articles and conduct regular on‑site visits.

Required profile

• Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
• Experience in a professional environment, preferably within a cloud‑first (Azure) setting.
• Ability to assess user IT knowledge and tailor support accordingly.
• Strong understanding of IT/Data Security policies and escalation procedures.
• Maximum of 5 years’ experience in a similar desktop support role.
