Direct Tax Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading international retail brand, is building a Tax Centre of Excellence to support growth and navigate the digital and international tax landscape. Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Direct Tax Manager will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shape tax automation strategy and ensure compliance across direct tax and transfer pricing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the direct tax and transfer pricing compliance lifecycle, including country‑by‑country reporting and filings.
• Own Pillar Two reporting requirements and related documentation.
• Develop and maintain transfer pricing methodologies, documentation and guidelines.
• Monitor international legislative changes and assess their impact on the global group.
• Provide robust tax advisory support and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Define requirements for tax automation, digital reporting and system/process changes.
• Create leadership reporting and forecasting tools to drive efficiency.
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns and statutory filings.
• Support tax governance, documentation and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with data, IT and indirect tax teams to deliver automated reporting solutions.
• Deliver regular legislative and case‑law updates to the Head of Tax.

Required profile

• Fully qualified AITI / CTA or equivalent international qualification.
• Minimum 7 years of dedicated corporate tax experience.
• Hands‑on experience with transfer pricing regulations and methodologies.
• Strong written, oral and presentation skills, able to translate complex tax concepts.
• Proven collaborative team player with a focus on collective success.
