Director - Corporate Transactions Tax Advisory

About the role

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an ambitious Director to lead its Corporate Transactions Tax Advisory practice. Based in Dublin, you will work closely with the market‑leading Corporate Finance team to advise Irish and international businesses on complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑profile transaction tax engagements, including buy‑side and sell‑side tax due diligence, M&A structuring and broader tax structuring projects.
• Collaborate side‑by‑side with the Corporate Finance team to embed tax considerations early in deal planning.
• Provide trusted advice on complex tax issues, combining deep technical expertise with commercial judgement.
• Build and deepen relationships with corporate clients, understanding their strategy and deal drivers.
• Identify and convert opportunities for additional tax services, supporting practice growth.
• Support business development alongside Partners and cross‑functional colleagues.
• Manage engagement financial performance, budgets and personal targets.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of tax professionals, offering technical guidance and day‑to‑day leadership.
• Collaborate with third‑party advisers to deliver multidisciplinary solutions.

Required profile

• CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualification.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in corporate tax, preferably from a large practice, Big Four or top‑tier professional services firm.
• Commercially minded with strong commercial awareness.
